Komatsu Forklift Australia is once again the proud National Sponsor of the Christmas Parties for Special Children initiative for the third year in a row.  Our support of this, one of the most important charity event series in the country, meant that the Parties were big enough to cater for over 15,000 children nationally in 2010 and again in 2011.

The Parties were held in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide for children, who through no fault of their own, do it tough. Every child has a special story, everyone is important and every year the parties make Christmas special for thousands of children. Some are orphans, some have suffered abuse, or a life threatening illness, some are disadvantaged through, drought, bushfires, or floods. These kids, we all know, deserve something special all the time, but especially at Christmas time.

These Christmas events are all about fun and smiles. The children get to attend a big party and they receive food, drinks, ice creams, entertainment, as well as visits from their favourite personalities. Some stars in attendance this Christmas included Ronald McDonald, the Troopers from Star Wars, Blinky Bill and of course the man himself, Santa. Every child gets a gift bag full of goodies that have been donated by generous corporate partners.

Komatsu Forklift Australia proudly provided support by donating money to the events along with material handling equipment (forklifts) for use by the organisers.  Many Komatsu Forklift staff also donate their time by volunteering to help out on the day. Our efforts were greatly appreciated by the bright smiles on children’s faces and the joy the events brought to families and carers who, over the Christmas period, need our support more than ever.

We feel it’s important for a successful company like Komatsu Forklift Australia to give assistance to this good cause and we had a wonderful time helping to make this happen.  Komatsu worldwide take great pride in our support of good causindex.php/newses such as providing land mine removal equipment in war torn areas of the world.

The Christmas Party for Special Children is a great way for us to give back and we are looking forward to supporting it again in 2012. We want our staff to be proud and proactive of this initiative and we encourage all to get involved.
